Youthville is one of the largest, nonprofit child welfare agencies in Kansas, and is dedicated to the mission of Giving Children Back Their Childhood. Over 600 compassionate and devoted employees provide services and care for more than 1,400 children on any given day. Youthville's vision is to provide the best sources of help to children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected.
Adoption Youthville provides services for hundreds of children who are awaiting adoption, between the ages of infancy to 17 years old and represent a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The parental rights of these children have been severed through the court system or relinquished by the birth parents. These children rely on their relatives, foster families, or potential adoptive families they have never met who open their hearts and homes to create a "forever family".
Counseling Youthville's Family Consultation Services provides customized counseling including play therapy for children, couples therapy, family therapy, and specialized therapy for emotionally disturbed clients. The Family Consultation Services staff include Master's Level Social Workers, Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, all licensed to provide behavioral health services in the state of Kansas.
Foster Care Youthville provides a home and loving family for almost 1,400 children in Kansas, licensing more than 350 foster families throughout the state. Foster parents provide basic care for children such as shelter, food, clothing, and medical care. They also provide nurturing and discipline. Foster parents provide all the things any parent would provide to a child.
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Children ages 8 to 18 sometimes need treatment to address their behavioral and psychiatric issues that prevent them from living in a family setting. Youthville offers the only equine therapy and expressive art therapy treatment center in Kansas, located in Dodge City and Newton. Children attend school and participate in highly structured, intensive therapy.
