Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) is a specialized foster care program for some of the most vulnerable children in our care. MTFC is a 6-9 month foster care program for youth with behavioral problems that can no longer live at home.
The goal is to change the negative behavior path of the child, while increasing a support system to achieve and maintain success. The MTFC program serves any youth, ages 12 to 18, who have a history of problem behavior and multiple treatments and placements. The program has a 75% graduation rate.
Youthville's MTFC program is 1 of 16 worldwide to achieve full certification from the Oregon Social Learning Center, the organization that founded MTFC.
MTFC foster families must meet basic qualifications and complete the steps required for all foster parents. Additionally, foster parents receive advanced training and support to become part of the treatment team. Only one child at a time may be placed in a home through MTFC. The foster home provides close supervision and implements a structured, individualized program for the youth.
Currently, foster homes involved with this program must be located within close proximity (30 minute drive) of Sedgwick County. This program is designed to serve youth who are in the custody of SRS or JJA as well as private admissions.
