The Placement department identifies living arrangements for children who have entered the system or have been removed from their home by the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS). The Placement department processes referrals from SRS then provides and coordinates both planned and emergency living arrangements. Placement staff work to ensure a good match between the child and the provider, which could be a foster home, a residential treatment facility, or another living arrangement.
The Transportation department serves children who are in need of transportation to and from appointments, such as therapy and family visits. The Transportation department utilizes both staff and volunteers to complete an average of 1000 transports each month. A child lounge is available in the Wichita office to provide a waiting place for children to be cared for before and after appointments or family visits.
